Jesus Revolution is a must see

Should we be saying thank you for Woodstock for a Jesus Revolution? Woodstock was a music festival that took place over three days and had more than 400,000 young people attend in 1969. Coined an “Aquarian Exposition” that celebrated peace and music and became synonymous with hippie iconography.

Jesus Revolution was released this week in movie theaters and the auditoriums were filled. The movie brings up the 1970 Jesus movement. As a child living in North Dakota during this time, I recall the whispers of the hippies and those “Woodstock” people. I never understood what they were doing but saw the signs ‘make love, not war” all around. 50 years later this movie has brought light to the era for me along with tears of gratitude.

Living in a non religious home with a single mother who did her best. I occasionally went to a Lutheran church with my grandmother. As a result I would get the cookies at the end of class. I recall sitting on the living room floor in front of our 13 inch black and white television watching the news unfold that hippies were on the streets passing flyers out about Jesus. Never really understanding why my family was so fascinated with this behavior, until viewing this movie.

You see, when you don’t understand how God can effect your way of life, it is all foreign and frightful. Fear sets in and doors close. I now understand the term hippie….the terms that went along with that… no shoes, love and peace, communes, Jesus freaks, and family. The drugs that some were using were to escape and be inclusive. People like you and me, wanting to be a part of a family and finding the answer was Jesus. I found that answer at 31 years of age now understanding the importance of Woodstock, Jesus Movements, Campus Crusade for Christ with Billy Graham and Bill Bright.

I am so thankful for that history as it brought awareness, great music, and people noticing and talking. As for last week Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky captured our attention once again for 13 days straight had a 24/7 revival meeting with over 50,000 people attending last week as it did in 1970. Jesus is alive and a revival is happening. Be ready.

I had tears of joy as they were baptizing in Pirates Cove, CA… I felt the joy as each actor would come up from the water. The new life and light. My pray is that you go see the movie and get to experience God in your life. Check out the Jesus Revolution trailer below.

About Stacey Handy Never Eat Alone a great read by Keith Ferrazzi is just one of the books I enjoy that has helped me build a lifelong community of colleagues, friends, and mentors. I grew up in Fargo, North Dakota and then served part time as a Nurse in the US Military for 24 years. I raised two wonderful children as a single mother in which I shared the love of God, travel, real estate, finances, and friendships. Rich Dad Poor Dad was a tool in which Robert Kiyosaki provided me with the knowledge of how to become financially independent as I served others. He brought real estate into my world in which I have been able to purchase, rehab, and provide to others a safe haven to call home. The Bible is my living tool which I realize is the foundation on my and my families lifeline. Relationships are so meaningful to me especially as I get to know my clients who place their trust with me as they search for the largest investment that they may ever make. Providing my expertise and concern for them provides an educated process and matches them to a home they love.
